I was looking into getting a Corsair 620HX but decided not to after learning it didn't ship with any 8-Pin PCI-e connectors, just wanted to future proof myself for any upcoming video cards. So I'm just asking if anyone knows of any PSUs with reputable brand names that ships with them? Pretty sure Enermax does and I think Silverstone too. Corsair is apparently giving 2 connectors for free if you bought any of their PSUs but you have to pay shipping, dont want to go through all that trouble though (proof).

You can't really "future-proof" yourself with a high-wattage power supply. Power requirements are constantly changing - just because you have an 8-pin PCI-E power connection doesn't mean you're good to go for a long time coming.

These newer cards just keep getting more power hungry and I'm aware of that but I was under the impression that in terms of longevity the PSU is one of those components that will last the longest? Going with that, I dont want to dish out $150-200 on a high end PSU that doesn't ship with in and then purchase another one a few months down the road because the 8-pin connector looks like its going to become the standard.

The longest? That's far from the truth. Like I said, power requirements are alway changing, and it's not just the video cards... it is more like everything inside the case. A 600W PSU from a few years ago will have most of its power on the legacy +5V, an output that nothing really uses anymore.

The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 has two 8-pin PCI-E connectors which can also run with two of the pins being detachable. On top of that, it has an additional two 6-pin PCI-E connectors.
It's a FINE PSU delivering 60amps on the 12V. Also it's silent. I have one and I'm extremely pleased with it._______________

I'm assuming the 8-pin PCI-E cables Corsair are shipping are adapters, correct? If that's the case, then should that not be a problem? Sinc the video card you buy may probably even ship with a 8-pin PCI-E adapter. Heck, even my 8800GTS shipped with a 6-pin adapter. Unless the 8-pin PCI-E is some special connector. Been checking it out and some people have said the two extra pins are just ground.
