Which PSU should I get?
I am looking at these two:
http://www1.canadacomputers.com/inde...950&cid=PS.808
http://www1.canadacomputers.com/inde...265&cid=PS.808
Looking at Newegg reviews, the Antec surprises me the most. Corsair seems to be a good PSU as well. Hence...I don't know which one is better...
Note, I won't be bothering with the mail-in rebate...so price is not really the issue
and can someone explain to me what Active PFC means? (BESIDES giving me a wiki link)

Don't read Newegg reviews, they aren't written by people with knowledge...
Between the Corsair and Antec Earthwatts, get whichever is cheaper. They're built on similar platforms. I'd give the nod to the Corsair, though._______________
Deal with it.

I'm sure antec has improved in quality since the 'fujiiyu' capacitor fiasco, but I still wont buy the product because I'm afraid they might use there fans inside the power supply, which are absolute garbage, and If they were able to cheap out $.20 per power supply just to save some money and never admit to the problem gives me a big reason never to buy the product again.
Corsair on the other hand, I have sold over 25 of these, never seen one fail, are quiet, and after opening one up just for fun, they are indeed using high quality Japanese caps throughout the unit. They aren't cheap, but you are getting exactly what they state and expect that it will last far longer than the 5yr warranty._______________

thx for the replies
From what I heard, the CX400 still follows a similar design to Seasonic PSUs and use caps from Nippon-ChemiCon despite it's aimed towards a lower budget.Last edited by 1337rice; Jan 3rd, 2009 at 08:34 AM.

I believe both PSUs are made by Seasonic so either should be fine.
If it was me I'd go for the Corsair because the cable lengths are generally a bit longer (although I think the Molex cables are shorter) and it has more connectors (e.g. 6 SATA versus 4) than the Antec.
