55 cans, coors is about $60 taxes/deposit all in.
you can get up to 10 cases, but careful where you cross the border.. there have been some ride checks on the bridges into o-town, and people have been fined as technically it is illegal to import into ontario...

Quebec Costco Beer Update
Hi,
could someone in the know give me an update on the beer at Costco in Quebec? I am planning a trip to Gatineau next week.
I hear that the size of the "Octagon" has increased?
What is the limit for beer? Is it a number of cases?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Why would it be illegal to bring into Ontario?
Your are still within Canada..

"Technically, the trade in booze is illegal under the Importation of Intoxicating Liquors Act. The federal law makes it a crime to "import, send, take or transport" liquor into any province. But the law, which carries a maximum $200 fine for a first offence, is rarely enforced."
Holy crap it is illegal! What a joke, damn teetotalers in Onterrible. We make it super expensive and control a monopoly so you don't buy in Ontario, but don't you dare think of going to buy it anywhere else.

I love in Quebec and I have lots of friends when they visit from Ontario, they always buy cases of beer from Costco...now I know why.
$200 fine, that's worth it after all the money you save, and rarely enforced. So in short, don't speed on your way back so you don't get pulled over and they find your beer._______________

Consumer reports hottest products of the year (Shopsmart Jan 2011 issue) has Kirkland (Costco brand) Signature Handcrafted Lager and Ales ($18.99 US for 24 variety pack of bottles) on its hot list. "In blind tests untrained tasters liked the brews about as much as pricier name-brand beers of the same styles"
I think the varieties include German Lager, Amber Ale, Pale Ale and Hefeweizen. All handcrafted lagers and ales.

Super C
I used to get my beer at Costco's, but now I go to "Super C", a grocery store, by the Casino in Hull (Gatineau). Always cheaper then Costco and better selection.

What does Super C charge for a case of Keith's, for instance? Curious to know if it's worth the sidetrip.

What about liquor, guys? Is it cheaper to get it in Quebec? I'm going to tremblant for 4 days in a couple of weeks and might pick up a bunch of bottles of it's cheaper, for myself and family. And it's a lot easier to transport than 5 octogons!
