My wife still has old cheques with her maiden name and old address. The account is now a joint account, but we're too cheap to get new cheques since we use them infrequently and we're moving in May. I just use the cheques without making any corrections. No problems.

Question about cheques...
I have 3 stacks of pre-printed cheques with my old home address.
Now that I've moved, I wonder if I can just cross out the old address and write the new address below it.
Does anyone know if this will get accepted at the bank?
Thanks in advance,
Kocur

So long as the account is valid you shouldn't have a problem...

yeah...I am still using cheques from an address I lived at about 7 years ago, about 5 houses/apartments ago.
edit: though I've never scratched out the address...why would you do that?_______________

All that matters is the account number on the bottom as long as thats not changed you can use those cheques. Cheques with no address or incorrect address are fine. Its just if the person your giving the cheque too is comfortable with it.

I've been using old cheques for years. However instead of crossing out the old address, I put a return mailing label with my new address on top - I have never had a problem with the bank, and it prevents people you are writing cheques to from using your old address.
