Question about connecting computer to (old) TV
Hey all,
I know this has probably been asked a lot but its hard to find answers for specific set-ups. I never bothered to get too literate with video components so I don't know how to properly and most efficiently set up a connection between my laptop and my TV.
The laptop I have is an MSI GX620 - for video it has HDMI and VGA-out and it has 4 inputs for audio:

The TV I have is a Sony Trinitron KV27TS30 model and it has the regular red, yellow and white inputs, s-video and then two extra audio inputs... (maybe its better to look at the schematic):

So basically I want a cheap, easy way to connect the two to watch videos on my TV (or something to connect to the TV so I can watch videos off of a USB key/external) and I was hoping someone here could help me out! I am not too concerned with quality as the TV is old and won't show it that well anyways I just want them connected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Your going to need a vga scan converter like this: http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...68&cid=VID.271 and a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to rca adapter.

Ok so would it be...
Laptop > VGA cable > VGA Scan Converter > Composite Video (Yellow) Cable > TV?
And then the headphone jack > converter >RCA on the TV?
Ahh okay I think that makes sense. So this seems like the best way to do it? It would also be possible with a DVD player with a USB input/DivX right? Such as this one: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...18&catid=25175
Thanks for the help!
