I see Large and X-Large eggs in the supermarket but does anyone know if you can get Small or Medium eggs? I never see them.
Also, how do I know they are from a chicken? The box doesn't say.
Thank you.

I've seen small and very small eggs at the grocery store, PA on fort st, Montreal. They doubled up the eggs, two per regular sized egg-cup in the container.

I remember buying eggs without a size on them. Then "Medium" and "Large" became standard. Probably a CFA decision for 'more clear packaging".

Chinese hotpot restaurants seem to have bought up all the extra small and small eggs. >=(
I seem to have to order at least 3 to use for one hotpot outing as opposed to one large egg at home. >=(
This is an outrage. >=(_______________

farmers' market
pee wee, small, medium. pee wee isn't always available though.. their yolk ratio is generally greater, so I tend to purchase these over other sizes when available.

Is it possible for them to downsize eggs? I swear the large eggs today are more like the medium of yesteryear. The only place that seems to have decent sized eggs is Costco.
OP, check out the medium sized at a place like Superstore, they are probably the size you want.

Does anyone know what size eggs are supposed to be?
I mean, what kind of chicken do they need to make an XL egg? It seems kinda big.
Or where do the extra small eggs come from? Someone said it was always a chicken.

There are quite a number of different sized eggs as medium, large and extra large. And i think the size of an egg depends on several factors, for example the breed of the hen, the weight of the hen, the hen's age, what the hen was fed on and the environment in which the hen was brought up. So may be those XL eggs are from well breed hen so without any doubt you can buy those, if you want.
