Question about living in a coNdO
I just moved into a condo. ma question is, is it ok to blast my music? I have the Logitech z-560's, I just turn up a little bit and it's like really loud and bassy. I was wondering if it's ok to play them at normal volme.
Will the neighbor complain?

I think they will since you've got people on almost every wall of yours. Condo sucks for not being able to blast music.

put it this way.. if your neighbors cranked their music and it went through the walls, ceiling, and floor, would you be ok with it?

^yup I would
because if i turn up my music, i can't hear anything that's coming in. that's how loud ma speakers are.
it's like, when you blast your car audio in your car, can you hear other car's car audio (even if they got the bassbox)? Don't think so.

If condo rooms have concrete walls, then you might be out of luck. Sound travels in concrete VERY well. Much better than air.

condos have a rules list, ask management downstairs.
eg music nothing loud after 11pm.
no home reno after 6pm eg hammering.
Your neighbours have to get up for work, also if you make too much noise they can call the police. If too many neighbours complain over a number of months, they can band together and write a letter to management to ask you to leave for not following the tenant act.
but sometimes when the urge strikes me, i turn the volume up high on the Klipsch pro medias 4.1 and play FPS with lots of gun blasts
.

depends on the time. neighbours might tolerate loud noise in afternoons and around dinner time but mornings and bed time should be quiet.

My condo has a policy that says if I can hear in the hall after 10pm, then it's noise disturbance, regardless whether you can hear it in another the condo unit. They would get fined, so *most* people do respect this.

this is very true. when i was working for the gov't last winter, i was getting ready for work. well of course i have to listen to music at louder than normal volume levels. and yes, i too have z560s. they were going plus 2 floor standing cerwin vegas. security came knocking at my door and said the guy downstairs was complaining that the bass was drilling into his ceiling. that was at 10:00pm.

i wouldn't try it either unless you are in a room that is isolated from the partition between you and your neighbour.
i would think you are most likely to have your neighbour hear and 'feel' your bass in a townhome.

My neighbour plays the trumpet and it makes me want to throw them off the balcony.
