It's a per program system, usually it's outlined if it's math or english or both. I know myself I had to take both, but that's because I'm in the Computer Engineering course.
I'm fairly certain since your program has nothing to do with math, and math isn't even a pre-requisit to get into your program, that you shouldn't have to write the math portion, as it was pretty tricky stuff when I did it. (Questions from all grades of high school.)
But welcome to Seneca, maybe I'll see ya around Newnham come September :P

Question for Seneca students
Hey all, I just have a question related to the Entry Test for applying to Seneca College.
I just want to know if there will be any math on an "English Test". I am applying for the Librarian Technician course and the test example paper they sent me via mail included both English on one side AND Math examples the other.
I'm worried now because I am not too strong in math!
Please can anyone from Seneca shed some light for me? Because my test is later on today
p/s
thanks

They just do that to save money. That way they only need to use one sheet of paper.
I can't imagine why they'd have your write a math test to get in, so I'm going to go with just english. Did they send you a sheet telling you what time your test will be and what room? Does it say english entrace test or something like that?_______________

Jun 5th, 2006 09:57 AM #5like others side it depends on corse you're taking. As for the english it doesn't really matter. If you do poorly on the english they'll just make you take a non credit english corse (eac149). Dont worry to much

it's easier than the G1 test
you have nothing to worry about.
if you made it through middle school, you won't have a problem

Rigged
That Seneca Test is a bunch of crap. I passed both the English and Math test and they still didn't give me the credits for both (they made me take the two extra courses). It was only in my second year when I spoke to someone in registration that they asked why I had took thoose classes (after it was too late).
Just relax and you'll do fine, the worst that can happen is that you have to take two extra classes (one for math and one for english). These classes are very basic and easy.

I accepted my offer to Seneca a few weeks ago now, and still haven't received anything in the mail.
It's the BCS program at the Markham campus. If I can get exempt from courses, that would be AWESOME.
