I needed to neuter my dog. Cash was kind of tight, so I decided to go with a high volume service; only $60. Don't get me wrong, I have the money to go to a regular vet, but I'd just rather spend the ~$140 on food and medical care. Problem: it's far up in Newmarket, and my only ride has plans. My only cost-effective option is to take VIVA/YRT.
Two round trips; arrive by 8:00AM, drop off the dog, then come back and pick him up at 5:00PM.
You can also bring dogs on leashes and small non-exotic pets on-board outside of peak hours. Peak hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive, during any emergency, or at any other time that vehicles are heavily loaded.
I'd be breaking the rules, but I assume these commuter buses going back to the back of the line are pretty much empty. I wouldn't know, though; never had to take VIVA/YRT before. Does anyone actually know how crowded they are, reverse commuting? Do the drivers care too much about it? Is it worth the hassle?
Thanks in advance.

I guess as long as your dog is not barking/sniffing ppl's crouches, I'm sure its fine. Saying so, their will be people that are scared of dogs.
I would just still go. Its like how people bring bikes in. Bus drivers don't really care as long as everyone is okay and comfortable.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked custy for this post.

The buses are really packed though.
Since the blue line runs long buses, you can get on at the back doors, the driver won't even notice the dog if you don't get on at the front.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked wilson_wu for this post.

Surely, they're not packed going back up to the suburbs at 6-7 in the morning?LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked p13m4n for this post.

I've taken viva blue northbound around that time and the buses are pretty full. A lot of people who either live downtown and work uptown, or are coming home from night shifts.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked D582 for this post.

Why couldn't you do this on another day when your ride is not busy?

I assume you would be getting on the Blue line @ the Richmond Hill Centre.
The busiest time for the Newmarket Line would be during rush hours. It is also quite busy during the 8-9-10 pm times.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked custy for this post.

It's a high volume place - took about a month just to get a call back.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked p13m4n for this post.
