Quick Help! What tool to operate this shutoff valve?
We are going to try a diy vanity replacement. And just located the shutoff valve.
At first, thought it wasn't there , but then found them behind these round metal access plates.
Seems, they are operated by a special detachable tool or a removable handle.
Searched everywhere online, but can't seem to locate a tool or whats it called to operate these. Don't want to use a screwdriver or anything and break the valves.

Its a 15 year old condo. We do have the regular shutoff valves in the kitchen, but the ones in washroom were not their..
then we looked carefully and saw couple of these round metal plates, the name on the plates:"DAHL ACCESS PLATES"
Behind the plates are the two copper pipes (the picture in my first post), seem to be cut flush with the cabinet back wall. We are sure these go to the faucet as one is hot to touch and other cold.
As it has this screw type thing in center, I assume there is a removable latch or some tool to shut these off.

I remember way back when living in a condo, I had this special brass tool to reach into the wall to turn the shut off valve. IIRC, it is just a square head about the size of a 3/8" socket with a t handle. Maybe you can use a socket extension.

I believe what you're looking for is a sillcock key. They are used for tamper proof faucets like you'd see on the outside of a commercial building. You MIGHT be able to get one at home depot/etc. Otherwise, look for a plumbing supplier for one.

Ask your building manager, they are required to have the operation key . On that note you are required to notify them that you are operating them as they are property of the building, which is why they have these type of valves in condos

thats correct you would use that tool for those valves thats you have pictured, in the new condos we put in partiton stop shut off valves mainy in the front hall closet or somewhere near the front entrace that shut off the whole suite and those require a partiton stop key that are 9" long t-handle and square at one end
