Qustion about Insurance:
2 questions how long do traffic convictions stay on your record?
Is it 2 years or 3?
Here is the insurance related question.
If i have a Out of province Traffic conviction 30-49 km/h, 4 demerit points, and my insurance doesnt know about it.
Lets say they never find it and my record eventualy becomes clean, if i renew or apply for new insurance i never have to declare i've been convicted?
Lets say now that they find out, and the conviction eventualy gets wiped from my MTO record. Because that my insurance company found out when i go to apply for new insurance or renew do i have to declare that i had the conviction?
Most insurance companies ask if you've ever been convicted in 4-6 years for a triffic violation.
-- The reason i ask those 2 questions is because i assume that insurance companies have there own records of drivers profiles and i wonder if there shared. if my company ever found out of my convictions and place it on there records are other companies privi to that information even though it's not on my MTO record.

Convictions stay on record for 3yrs with insurance and suspensions for 6yrs. Usually out of province convictions will show up on your drivers abstract. Best way to check is go to the MTO and pick up a recent drivers abstract then you'll know. Insurance companies only disclose claims history on an auto plus report which every insurance company has access to - this does not show convictions.

its 3 years for tickets then they are off your drivers abstract
you can get a drivers abstract online for i think $22 its not an official one you can show your insurance but it will show everything that is on there
insurance is like a contract there is set contract date usually 1-2 years after that your up for review they take your drivers abstract and see if you got any more tickets and they reevaluate you and give you a new price, if you have a clean record then your insurance should go down and you upgrade by one star
