Rodney King was found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool on Sunday morning by his fiancé. No foul play is suspected.
R.I.P Mr. King. Never forget.

It's shockingly refreshing to see someone of your political leanings care about issues of race and inequality.
Maybe I had you all wrong.

The LAPD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test.
He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.
The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.
The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming.
The LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!

Would it seem insensitive to say that this post seems dumb? The events that involved him were clearly important to the history of the United States, but how is he an inspiration?
The guy was speeding, but didn't want to pull over since he was dunk and a DUI would violate the conditions of his parole for a previous crime. So a high speed chase ensued. When they finally cornered him, he was clearly the victim of police brutality, but lucky for him, it was caught on tape.
The details of his life are really sad and tragic, especially with this death added now. Everything in his life seemed to be framed within his alcohol addiction.

Yes, way to go Rodney the "inspiration": get drunk, smoke up, drive, speed, run from the police, resist arrest.
He is a victim (borderline) but he's not a hero.Last edited by i6s1; Jun 18th, 2012 at 02:33 AM.

Rodney King was found to have 15 gun shot wounds when his body was recovered from the bottom of the pool.
The LAPD are investigating how King could have managed to get the gun to fire underwater

Canada's IQ, common-sense, and common-decency-free zone. Bans for absolutely no legitimate reason, including ignoring trolls. Bans only keep good members from offering assistance/deals anyway. Lurking actually makes more sense here than helping.
I'm enjoying my summer completely RFD-free. Such an ultimately pointless time-waster.
