It certainly couldn't hurt.
I have 1 gig, but I know I'll never truly be happy until I have the largest capacity module per slot.
(currently 4x1gb is my dream, but when 2gb chips are mainstream, i'll want 8gb ram..hehe)

RAM suggestion
would it be worth to upgrade to 2gb of ram from 1gb?
this what i have currently in mind
2x512
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227031
and thinking of getting this instead
2x1024
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146970
wat are your suggestions? is it worth the upgrade?.. the timings on the 2x512 seems to be better than the 2x1024... would i noticed a big difference in the timing differences?... any help is appreciated.. thanskLast edited by cmge; Sep 26th, 2005 at 03:13 PM.

Sep 26th, 2005 05:43 PM #7You don't really need more than a gig to play games. However, I have 2GB myself because I do other things that require alot of ram, and by having that much ram, it can never hurt. Unless you never use up that ram, which would mean a waste of money.

Got my new ram tonight. It does help a bit with gaming, probably more than a bit with games that use up a lot of memory like BF2. For me, it'll probably cost me about $20-25 over what I'll sell my tccd for...and since I don't have a great overclocking system, seems like a worthwhile upgrade.

definately, games + video encoding = never enough ram...already got 1.5gb and my next platform upgrade(possibly crossfire in a year or two) will definately be dual core AMD + 4x1gb ram...dream machine. it will render video's in avid xpress pro hd like a fish in water
and play F.E.A.R. :P
