Don't seem have any review on this BAFFLE Filter type of range hood. I am also interested in
1. www.401home.ca Crown AFG-FT01 $499 (750cfm) and
2. Range Hood Depot ($499 at Brampton posted on Kijiji toronto) or Kitchenear (Warden & Steele) Atzeni AT430B (780cfm)
They both are similar ; with 6 inch pipe and 750cfm vs 780 cfm. and 1 year part&L and 5years motor VS 3 years part and 1yearL with lifetime motor.
Please share your experience with the range hoods (noise, efficiency [real sucking power], reliability, how easy to clean, etc) and also the particular STORES (warranty/repair service)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Range hoods
I am curently shopping for a range hood, 30" under cabinet. I was considering the Kitchenaid KHTU705SS model but it is pretty pricey at $800. I am also considering three modles form Crown range hoods (AFG corp) they are the AFG-FT01 $499, AFG-FT25 $599 or the AFG-FT30 $699. If anyone owns one of these range hoods please give some insight on your personal experience. Also, if anyone can suggest which would be the best choice please post with your opinion. You can view these range hoods at www.401home.ca to get detailed specs.
Thank You.

I'm in the market for a range hood and the FT-01 has peaked my interest. Does anyone have any comments about the unit, warranty, where did you purchase it?

I like the ventahood brand. sucks a lot of air and isnt too loud on low when you dont need max suction.
When I have it running both fans on high, I can feel the air moving past me. A dual fan ventahood requires an 8" duct though. The wall vent is massive.

I like my Ventahood 600 CFM, but even on the low-setting it's fairly loud. This is the one:
http://www.ventahood.com/hoodmodels.jsp?id=10
My main beef with this Ventahood is that with rear venting (as opposed to top venting), the mount design is quite poor IMO. Even with extra screws in addition to the usual mount points it was still slightly loose. This apparently isn't a problem with their top vented design because the mount points are different. It looks like their rear vent model is just a hack of their top vented design. To stabilize it I had to add extra braces. IMO that should not be required for a range hood install.

For a range hood to be effective, I believe the shell should be as deep as possible to trap odours, grease, steam, etc.
Models such as the Vent-a-hood and Viking have deep shells and you can select the cfm rating of the exhaust motor and fan.
