That'd be nice, RBC offered me prime+4.5% and then quickly dropped it to p+3.5 when i told them that was so much higher than other banks.

That is a good rate.
TDbank offered me prime + 4.25%, but also with a $150 interest back deal by Mar 15th.
I took it. One can always negotiate the rate or simple close the account later._______________

Thalo or anyone else working for the bank, would TD have a similar offer? I'd love for my wife to get at LOC with TD as we have minimal banking relationship with the bank currently. Her branch is in Waterloo, would her account manager be able to exercise some discretion with respect to the interest rate?

When last I worked in the retail branch P+1% was theoretically possible for a ULOC of around $20K or more, if you could be approved for that much. Doubt it's still possible though, given that that's what HELOCs start at.
Edit: unless it's a super special offer that's targeted at you. That means you won't get it by asking, you'll get it when they come begging for your business.
