RBC Rewards - 25% off Amazon Prime Membership

Price:
8475 pts
Savings:
25%
Expiry:
June 17, 2019
Retailer:
RBC
My Prime membership is up next month and I've been waiting on a deal like this. Until June 17th Amazon Prime membership is only 8,475 RBC Reward points, 25% discount. I wanted to post in case anyone else felt like it's a good time to take advantage, especially with Prime Day coming up in July.

I would think so, yeah. It should add another 12 months onto your current end date.

Yeah you should be more than good! Since they give you a code to apply to your account. Also it doesn't need to be redeemed right away.

From the RBC rewards website:

To redeem your Prime Membership Code, please visit amazon.ca/redeemprime . Once you receive your Code by mail, login to the link above with your Amazon.ca account credentials. Simply enter the Code found on the back of the card and a (1) one year Prime Membership will be applied to your Amazon.ca account.

Note: This code must be redeemed by June 19, 2021.

Just know, those points translate to how much in dollar terms? I find that with points, you always get ripped off. Some banks you are better converting directly to cash in one of their financial products (savings, investment account) etc for full point power.

If you're an RBC Rewards+ cardholder it's likely cheaper to just buy Prime with amazon gift cards if it's possible. If I recall Prime is $79 cdn and $25 GCs are 2500 points each at the moment. Rewards+ the points usually work out to about 1% cash back on the discount items.

For reference they had amazon prime for 7900 points for quite a while around cyber monday, $25 GCs were also around 1800 points on CM. (No time machine obviously)
