Somehow I can't see paying $2K for anything with an RCA label - it's the equivalent of buying a fully loaded Chrysler minivan.

Over the weekend I picked up the ProScan 65" 4K for $470 plus taxes at the Visions grand opening sale. Amazing price and the picture on the display model was great for a less known brand.

No mention of it even being HDR compatible, let alone rendering it to it's full spectrum. Might as well go for a 1080p. But wow, 78 inches.

Not a bad deal if you’re looking for a giant TV. This is starting to reach into projector sizing.

Obviously if you want an HDR10/Dolby Vision TV you’re not looking at this, you’d be spending $20k more for the same size Link

I am tempted, just due to sheer size... I have 16ft from my couch to the tv screen, so distance isn't a problem for me.

I currently have the Westinghouse 55 inch 4k TV, which looks fantastic to me, it doesn't have hdr, so I don't really know what I'm missing.

I remember the 55 inch rca tvs having yellow issues (I picked one up from rcss and returned it), anyone know if that was the same for the 65 inch tvs, and so possibly with this one?

I was set on buying the vizio m65-e0 model from Costco.

Wow, I hope the 300CD/M2 is a typo. Thats really dim. It could be fine for watching in darker rooms, but in a bright room, I'm not sure you can have a good experience watching.

Most 2016 smartphones have at least 500 nitts, iPhone 6s, Samsung S6, OnePlus 2, all have at least 550 nitts.

I don't know much about tvs lol so going based on what I found through a Google search. Based on this rtings article, for SDR (this tv doesn't have any mention of HDR), anything >300 is listed as "good value". So being that this is stated as 300, seems like it would be ok?

Yeah, 300 cd/m2 should be OK. Doesn't make sense to compare a 75" TV with a smartphone.

EDIT: For reference my current TV is 300 cd/m2. My old plasma was ~140cd/m2, and it was the better TV by far because of the very dark blacks (wouldn't use it in a bright room though). Overall contrast matters much more than max light output unless you use it in a very bright room.

my RCA 55 LED 1080p has been rock solid for 5 years now.. been through 3 moves and countless relocations.. not even a single dead pixel.. perfectly working and great condition..

but it was my 2nd tv.. the first one died in 2 days and had to lug it back to the store to get my current one..

It's 1899 but that's in USD, which is about $2300 CAD.

I added to cart to see how much tax/duties/(shipping is free), but the only option is for me to pay tax on delivery, which I don't want to risk as it could bring the price up to close to $3k.

edit: based on crossbordershopping.ca's calculator, total cost would be about $2750 CAD, or about $500 more than this RCA 78" ($1998 plus HST).

RCA dose not exist anymore like Polaroid. Just a rental name. Might as well badge this as Curtis or TCL.

Ah, I checked, no local pick up available in the Toronto area, and we'd get hit with HST.

I can't find the overall dimensions and the weight to verify if it fits a wall mount. All I see is:

VESA Mounting Compliant = 400mm x 300mm (16" x 12")
