i like to hear your thoughts. would any of you guys do rcmp as a job or go into it. if so why or why not. i like to hear your reasons. be it too dangerous , not my thing, to i like to do it b/c its helpin the public, and good government job. would you do rcmp soley on the fact its a government job and the pay is very good 45k first yr and 80k after 3 yrs.

what it like being a rcmp. is it hard to get in. what do they look for.
is it like a slack job. do you just drive around a lot and go to tim hortons and hang out. is it very slow and u just watch dvd movie, and listen to ur ipod or is it a lot of work and fast pace and can be very dangerous work

would u see ur self doing rcmp or cop and would ur freinds see u doing it . why or why not

RCMP is very hard to get into, and law enforcement isnt for everyone.
Its a stressful job and has its share of ups and downs. Judging by your post i think you have a skewed view of what really entails a career in law enforcement.
The job required a high motivated and confident person. Its just the nature of the job...
I suggest you spend some time volunteering and being active in your community. Perhaps even joining your local auxiliary police force to see what its like.

Eek... You pretty much admitted that you have all the personality traits of a person that they wouldn't want to hire.
I think you might be a bit out of touch b/c most sensible people would kinda figure you need to be pretty confident and sharp (in regards to street smarts) to be a cop...

From your previous threads.... I would suggest you try volunteering in the community or taking some courses @ the local community college. This way you can find out what you want to do with your life.
Try joining some clubs, maybe go to church or some sort of activity group so you can see what life is like.

Being a police officer is NOT a dangerous job whatsoever in CANADA.

Working construction, at a convenience store, etc, is by far MORE dangerous- even being a nurse dealing with alzheimers or psychiatric patients. The public perception of a police officer is one who confronts danger and puts his/her life at risk....which is NOT true for the most part, at least not at the level they want you to believe for them to commend your respect.

I have a 'step' uncle who became an RCMP police officer. Even though he was born in Canada he got in as a 'visible minority.' He dropped out of college, liked to play football.....ate like a cow, and in my opinion wasn't a very smart guy and in fact incredibly lazy...

Anyways, he got transfered to B.C and now is on duty out there. I always got along with him and he was a good person though butt lazy. He is making comparable good money based on the average Canadian salary for his lack of education. In my opinion, very overpaid!

My brother was going to get into the RCMP when he got tangled with his girlfriend and had a baby a few years ago....good for him, he decided that it wasn't for him and he decided to FINISH COLLEGE!! He was going to the meetings and brought home his 'homework'....basically a book with pictures where you have to compare one photo to the other (detective work) to find the 'bad guy!' Looked like a deja-vous of grade school....

Bottom line in my opinion, with all due respect.....if you are looking for an easy way out of life, a stable job with a stable pay, and some authority without the requirement of education....I would rec'd you to become a police officer with the RCMP. The salary posted of 75k after a few years is true.....but remember, when you become a police officer it's not like becoming a lawyer or getting a job on Bay street.....you stay at your salary for the rest of your career until you retire.........

and yes, indeed you get to eat a lot of dough nuts- and it's on the house

Police forces are filled with vibrant personalities, not all which can be seen clearly from the other side of an interviewers desk.

Even if you are lucky enough to get in as a less then desirable candidate... Its in your best interest to be the best person you can be for the job.

He once dropped my mothers computer and didn't repair it or even apologize.

He once came to our house and ate all the food in the fridge.....

He lived with my aunt and uncle for 6 months and didn't pay a dollar....

Anyways, RCMP and regular Canadian police = OVERPAID / UNEDUCATED.........

So go for it!! It's an easy solution in life if school doesn't appeal to you and you want to have power over people without any qualifications that would be necessary in a 'normal' job.....(like experience, education, success....etc) not to mention those guys get so many discounts at so many places....

The good thing about being a police officer is that you can take out your anger on the first black/arab man you pull over for speeding that has a nicer car then you and no one is going to believe him
