No, atleast for my university. I go to UTM and if I have to re-do a course, then the higher mark will be considered for program admission requirements BUT it won't affect your GPA. The effect that your mark had the FIRST time you took the course counts towards the GPA.
Also, both marks will show up on your transcript. Hope I helped.

if you think you're not doing well, say late in the course, you should just drop it. And take it again.
It will not show on your transcript that you took the course twice.

I'm also in Atkinson, you can redo a course and it will boost your GPA if you get higher. Im not sure about showing on your transcript however.

It will definitely show up on your transcript and is given a special code beside it.

Well, it really depends on your schedule. If you are doing a part-time job, then doing a 100% course load often seems to be a burden to a lot of students. I work part-time and find that 70% course load fits well in my schedule. That's just me though!

100%...unless you're working far too many hours on the side or have some other valid reason to take less. In my opinion, taking less than 100% courseload is like signing up for a 9-5 job and going in only from 9-2. It doesn't make any sense. The curriculum is designed for a 100% courseload. The only reason some programs allow you to take less is to provide flexibility to individuals who are working many hours or have other commitments. If the above didn't apply, why would you take less than 100%? It'll just drag out your degree.
