Saves about 13%, given the price for Echo Dot is $39.99 https://www.amazon.ca/All-new-Echo-Dot- ... B0792JYXZK
This would be true for maybe some individual, who happens to spend $300 on rcss naturally and also happens to need echo dot for say Christmas gift.

Yes, so you also need to factor in how much extra you are spending just to get the "deal"

So Much This!!! I am the shopper in the family and for a family of 5 I spend about $160 a week at RCSS and $90 at other stores depending on sales. My wife will say, "If we spend the whole $250 at RCSS we can get the free gift." I keep explaining that we would get LESS doing it that way as I shop sales at other stores and we don't need the gift they are offering. "BUT FREE!!!" I Love her; her math & shopping? Not so much. LOL

100%. I just can't imagine spending that kind of cash at rcss in one sitting, barring some other factors. Math one these "deals" usually far favours the retailers; i.e. their are not loss leaders or break evens

I assume giftcard spending of $300 doesn't count?

These kinds of deals we're always close (got it a few weeks ago for spending $275 - price is going up) and I just slap a few extra laundry detergents on there to up it - now I don't have to buy detergent when they don't have a deal and it doesn't go bad.

You can price match at Superstore if you bring the flyers from the other stores.

I suppose with aggressive price-matching, large quantities, and big-ticket items you can hit $300, but even on Black Friday I couldn't hit the $275 threshold for a free Echo. One can only buy so much bacon.

Not worth my time to price match a few items that are the same as they don't match store brands. Im a stay at home dad and drive by a Metro, Safeway, Walmart and Shoppers taking my kids to school everyday so I just stop at a different store each day on the way home for a quick trip. I prefer it to giant one stop shopping trips. The other upside to my shopping is I get to see what everyone has on special markdown (those 30% off meat/bakery deals) to toss in the freezer.

YMMV, if you buy other groceries, you can get it, I have in the past($200 on gift cards ~$70 on other items)
I'm saving money by finding more things to spend money on!
