Real Christmas Tree
We've decided to get a real tree this year, our first one ever! Not really sure where to go and was wondering if someone can offer some suggestions (we're in Toronto). We're thinking of maybe hitting up a Christmas tree farm to cut our own, but again, no idea of where to go for that. I searched online and there are lot of farms out there. Also, would the one's at the nurserys be as good, and if so, which one? How much does a real tree typically cost? We're looking at getting either a Balsam or Fraser fir because of their said needle retention.
Thx!

Rona has them for $20 and Ikea has them for $20 and you get a $20 coupon to use on orders over $75. I think they are both 6' trees. I'm not sure what kind they are. I also think Fortinos has 8-9' ones on this week for $40, again not sure what kind.

The scouts/cubs/beavers sell the Drysdale trees - Balsam $30 and Fraser $40 and pines ($?) at the church on Manor Rd between Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton. Good trees good cause. I saw them there last night passing by.

I heard there are places where you can go and cut down the tree yourself (legally). Are you guys aware of these?

Yup, there are. Not sure where you're located but if you're in Ontario, here's a site dedicated to Christmas tree farms: http://www.christmastrees.on.ca/.
Btw, thanks for everyone's responses but we've decided to go with our fake again
Oh well, maybe next year...
