Is this a reasonable quote for gutter replacement?

This is for a small detached two story house in the GTA. About 1200 feet of gutter needs to be replaced with 3 downpipes. It's pretty much failing apart right now.

The quote is for 5 inch seamless eavesthrough (0.0235 thickness) and 3x3 down pipes. Total is $1280+tax = $1446.60.

Sounds reasonable? I was hoping for $1000, but not sure what's the market like. Any question to ask them? Ice breaker, leaf guard?

I also got a quote to replace all soffit and fascia, which is $2490+tax. The quote did mention that the existing wooden soffit has peeled paint, but not rotten. A particular spot looks pretty bad to me, but I am not sure I want to replace the entire thing since the rest of them look fine.

Sounds pretty good, not the cheapest for just the gutters. Similar stats last year yielded just under $900.

remeber its the sheet metal is the most expensive, and its all custom made from the truck, which gonna drive the costs up.

Seems about right on the gutter/downspouts.
Wood soffit can look pretty nice if maintained but I don't know where to find a company who would repair that aside from painting.. Our neighbour just replaced theirs with aluminum, kind of cookie cutter in comparison but it was in bad shape.

I am late to the party, don't know if you ended up doing the work, but 0.0235 thickness seems a strange number.

...seems reasonable. I had a solid 48' section replaced, and I think mine is only 4", not 5". We paid $300, cash deal.

1200 feet of gutter? That is a very big house. :)

It's 22ga, a standard size and not strange at all.

i just got quoted 2849 +HST for 220 feet 5" alu rex with trex gutter covers

I have 220 feet, 12 corners and 4 downspouts

this seems astronomically high 12.50/foot? with no removal of existing gutters i currently have nothing

I should be aiming for 8-10$/foot at the most right?

I'm wondering the same thing.

I have a 2 story 2400 sq. ft which will need about 120 linear feet so 1200 feet seems very high.

I also need soffits replaced as I want to change the colour so if 5" seamless 22 gauge eves trough going price is $9.00 per linear ft, = $1080.00 + tax what's the going rate for soffits?

The alurex screen comes close to doubling your cost per foot

with the amount of rains we have been having recently, I would go 6" just to be on the safe side unless you find the price differential is too much for you.

Evacuates the water from your house much faster and prevents overflow of the evestrough in very heavy rains.

I had a quote today for $12 linear foot for trex+leaf guard and $7 linear foot for downspout. No idea if this is competitive. This is in central Toronto.
