Scansoft's PaperPort is a good application for managing scanned documents like receipts.

Here's a new way to handle receipts. Neat Receipts The software helps organize them into categories you set up.

im thinking about taking hirez pics with the digicam and keeping the files sorted on my computer for backup and sending them to gmail with all useful info in the contents of the message (for easy searching)
thats what i do with all the mail in rebate documents b4 sending them..much more easier to deal with then photocopies..one one ocassion i was able to email the images to the rebate ppl when i had issues with delays.
also thinking of doing this with the cards and contents of my wallet, so if they ever get lost i can easily have a copy made with all the info handy...
might consider RARing the files with a password and then sending them to GMAIL thou (u never know who's reading ur mail!)_______________

Anything that has to last longer than the current tax year gets scanned. Everything else just gets dumped in a file folder.

Now's a good time to ask Rehan if his receipts are still fading...

It's the software and the portablility that can make this worthwhile for some. I suspect that the CCRA will follow suit with the IRS and allow submitting electronic receipts. So for anyone that needs to track receipts for deductions on taxes or expense accounts this may very well be the easiest way to go...

man, SOME PEOPLE. People get shitted on for starting duplicate threads., then people get shitted on for bumping OLD threads...it's a loose loose situation.
I'm glad this guy bumped a 3 yr old thread...I think I bumped a 1 or 2 yr old one about the stale chips lol.
---END RANT.
So yeah., my FutureSlop receipts have faded...I'm gonna do some serious scanning.
Wouldn't it be awesome to take in a completely faded receipt and use it for proof of purchase. You have your copy but you don't show it. Then they say they can't read anything on it...so you say..that's not my problem...deal with it. LOL...okay that wasn't so exciting...
