even if it fuxx up ur record, its better to report it than just sit there and wait for phone calls about 'your' $10 000 loan and that new BMW that needs to be paid for.

Recently got wallet stolen need advice..
I recently got my wallet stolen and because I was just back from a trip from around canada I had my citizenship in my wallet as well as sin card, health, drivers license etc..
I was told to put a fraud alert on my files @ equifax and transunion. The fraud alert lasts for the next 6 years.. I have heard that the fraud alerts will fuxx up your record there.. I want to know how does it fuxx up your record and is it worth it to place the fraud alert on my file?
thanks for any advice given

1. Call any credit card companies and cancel all cards (don't forget department store cards)
2. Call police and file report (they will give you more advice)
3. Call bank(s) and cancel bank card(s)
4. Put fraud alert on account with both credit reporting companies Equifax and Transunion - these means they'll contact you personally before any new credit is extended.
5. Start the long process of getting ID back - start with Birth Certificate.
1-4 should be done within the hour you realize the wallet is gone. Now works too though._______________

the ontario government website has a checklist for wallets that are stolen, all the necessary reporting procedures, replacement health card/drivers license forms are all there.
