Recommendation for Engine swap places?
I need some recommendations for Motor swap places.
I have a 2001 Civic LX Automatic.
My transmission died on me...
So i figured instead of just changing my tranmission it wouldnt be much more to do a total motore and tranny swap.
Any good recommendations that won't cost an arm and a leg in the GTA???
Thanks

An engine swap + transmission swap may be more than the value of your car.

Not to mention the fact it's going to drive your insurance company up the wall. Just get a new transmission or a new car.

Aren't most transmission attached to the motor on a FWD car? If you could get a replacement motor and tranny it would be fairly simple for a shop to swap it assuming it's from a similar model year and car.
Just got my engine swapped in my V8 RWD car, $1300 including labour and all fluids.

you can try to pick up the bastard child a3 that dc5 base/ep3 owners don't want .... it will be much more fun than your current engine i presume

How about trying to figure out why exactly your car is dead? It could be something as simple as a sensor.

Exactly, did you have a mechanic look over the vehicle yet to find out the problem? And at the age of your vehicle, a engine and transmission swap would probably exceed the potential value of your car, which if in excellent condition, would be around $8,705 US. Your value of course, would be much lower.

yeah ... but those are a lot more expensive. k20a3 can be had for dirt cheap since EVERYONE wants vtec and think their little a3 is a garbage motor. though in reality it's a perfectly sound motor and will make your EM2 move =)
