Recruiter ( pre-screen)

so, i got a call from a recruiter, last Thursday ..... representing an organization i was interested in applying for

he pre-screened my resume and asked questions

towards the end he stated how much the hourly wage was and asked how much i made at my last job

and what my pay expectations were

i told him my previous pay, which was much more than what they are offering

and wanted the same

did i blow my chance for an interview with the hiring manager?!

I wouldn't think so, if they feel your resume and experiences are deserving of what you are looking for, and you fit their company, they would pay for you.

No.

They have a range they can afford to pay. If you are in that range it's all good.

Too high they can't pay you. Too low you won't want to work there.

Last job salary doesn't really matter.

Good luck!

Depends on the field/role and the uniqueness of your skills.

If this is a customer service/entry level job, they'll always pay less money

if you want the job, you need to tell them that you are open to the salary range for the job you are applying for

contact them and ask if the rejection was due to the salary. then tell them what I told you. you have to assure them that you are extremely interested in getting this job and open to whatever they offer you
there is nothing wrong with trying

i went to so many recruiters lately

they all give you the song and dance

that they will present your resume to the hiring manager and never hear from them again

or they book phone/skype interviews with you and fail to call

it's all a scam to meet their own quotas

and half the job they advertise are fake or filled already
