Is there is any way to recycle ripped bedsheets? Throwing them out in the garbage seems wrong and giving them to Goodwill seems kind of rude. Just wanted to hear from you before I chuck them.

Use them as drop cloths for painting and when renovating. Make smocks for the kids for finger painting. Use them to cover your car if you go on vacation (indoor only). Use them to cover the plastic that's covering your sofa.
Of course they're best used if you have a toga party.

if they are clean, you can donate them to artsjunction. the school children can use the scrap fabrics for arts and crafts.

THROW THEM OUT in the garbage. SO WHAT??? It's garbage!
Just toss it out .... you're wasting time looking for places to recycle and wasting gas to travel to places (ie. ummm ... recycle one thing but polluting with gas!) ..._______________

You seem to have just copy/pasted your response to the old shoe thread
My response is similar, with some information on what happens to clothing in unusable condition.
Firstly, Goodwill/Salvation Army and donation boxes everywhere can use your clothing and shoes.
They sell stuff that they can't use to textile recyclers and they recycle unusable stuff to make into reclaimed wiping cloth. FYI, they can also use t-shirts with holes in them, used towels and all sorts textile waste.
According to the EPA (US Environmental Agency) only 15% of all textile waste is recycled, 85% of it is in a landfill. That's really bad for the environment. Donate all of your clothing.
It's better to keep the clothing/shoes in circulation and support your local charities.

Ditto for the recycling hangers thread. It kind of defeats the purpose of our forum and makes people think that there aren't other options.
Metals, cardboard, textiles, plastics, organic waste, etc almost everything is recyclable. It's unfortunate that someone would spread misinformation.

I've reported like 6 of his posts, but there doesn't seem to be any moderation on the green forum

The first thing you can do is giving them to a charity or local shelter if the condition is good. If condition is worse then you can also recycle your old bed sheets into rags. Rip old sheets into rags for cleaning, dusting, or any other house cleaning. You can also polish furniture, silver, and most anything in your home. So don't throw out your old bed sheets rather reuse it in a good way.

If it's clean then donate it to a poor people. Otherwise use it for for cleaning dust.
