Where can you recycle old shoes (really old shoes, not reusable), because it seems like Nike doesn't accept them in Toronto according to their website.
I remember however that Nike on Bloor/Bay used to accept old shoes with a receptacle at the front door...

Kids around here knot the laces together and throw them up on the telephone lines at the local school.

Recycling old shoes
If the nike shoes can be recycled, it is also a contribution to environmental protection. Hundreds of pieces of shoes can be recycled, Would not put it down。I am in favor of recycling

THROW THEM OUT in the garbage. SO WHAT??? It's garbage!
Just toss it out .... you're wasting time looking for places to recycle and wasting gas to travel to places (ie. ummm ... recycle one thing but polluting with gas!) ..._______________

NO.
Goodwill/Salvation Army and donation boxes everywhere can use your clothing and shoes.
They sell stuff that they can't use to textile recyclers and they recycle the soles and laces. FYI, they can also use t-shirts with holes in them, used towels and all sorts textile waste.
According to the EPA (US Environmental Agency) only 15% of all textile waste is recycled, 85% of it is in a landfill. That's really bad for the environment. Donate all of your clothing.
It's better to keep the clothing/shoes in circulation and support your local charities.

I think it will be better to donate the shoes. Homeless shelters are always in need of shoe donations. They would welcome donations and give your shoes a second life.

Not so sure about Salvation Army or goodwill. I've donated things like coat hangers only to see their minimum wage teens chuck everything in the dumpster right in front of me.

Donating items to charity doesn't guarantee that it will be given a second life. A lot of donations get thrown into the garbage because they don't sell or aren't fit to be taken to the third world to be re-sold there.
