The price in GTA FS is still $199.99 before tax, only 90 days warranty, there is 2 yrs FS warranty for 39.99, but I did not buy it, hope it's still OK.

And some sets still carry the tag price $279, but dont care about it, it's $199.99 for sure. FS removed the 10 yrs MS warranty from the box instead of 90 days MS warranty.

I just bought one set at 7:00pm (Mar.03, 2007) at Scarborough West, it's at least 4 sets left. When you arrive, just ask any clerk for this product.

Well for anyone annoyed by the freezing "feature" that these have, I think I know what the problem is.

Last night I put a movie on and then placed my wireless mouse in its charging crade. The charging cradle is plugged into the wall in the same wall socket as the Spherex. When I placed the mouse in the charging cradle, the Spherex froze. I thought it was wierd. So I had to do a full power off of the Spherex and turn it back on again to get sound. So I restart my movie and again place the mouse back in the charging cradle. Spherex freezes again. So I see the pattern. I tried the same thing again and confirmed that the Spherex froze when I placed the mouse in the cradle.

The point is that the freezing problem with the spherex has to do with the power supply. It seems that if the AC power isn't "perfect" that it will freeze up. I'm not quite sure how to FIX the problem yet - perhaps it is possible to replace the power supply - or even more simple, it may work to just not plug anything else into the socket that the Spherex is plugged in to. Another fix may be to use a UPS to condition the power to it.

Any thoughts? Who has a UPS that they can experiment with?

For anyone that cares, I have repeated the same behaviour of having the system freeze when I plug a cordless mouse back into its charging cradle that is plugged into the same outlet. There is definitely something wrong with the system's power supply.

I can concur with that, after picking up a sony grand wega 60 inch... my spherex system also freezes after I power up the TV. never had when I had an old CRT screen. There is definitely something to do with its power supply sensitivity... will try using something to clean the power tonight.

Hi, Just found this post, and tried it but nothing happened, everything working fine.

#1. Hook-up my Spherex on one cheap power bar with 3 outlets.

#2. After read this post, I hook-up one 100Watt floor lamp on the power bar, then, turn on and off, on/off ... many times, nothing happen, music still playing.

#3. Take the lamp off, hook-up my 42" SONY HDTV on it, did the same thing, still working fine.

No more test, just like this, maybe someone can figure it out.

Thanks for doing the testing I'm not surprised that you didn't get the freezing - it is intermitent. If I am *trying* to get it to freeze just out of the blue then it won't. If I am going about my normal business and put my mouse in its charging cradle it will sometimes freeze. At this time only, I can reset the Spherex receiver and then repeat the freezing behaviour many times in a row just by plugging the mouse in again and again.

So the freezing seems to be related to the power supply and it also seems to be an intermitent problem. It may have to do with the state of the main power line in general too. I live in a condo apartment so it is possible that the activities of my neighbours may contribute to the intermitent nature.

just called my local fs to see if they had to spherex in store but they only have the demo unite.

should i go in and ask them to sell it to me and if i do what price should i suggest after the pm

you should be able to get it for $99... that's what alot of ppl are getting with open box units.

AFAIK there is still stock in terra losa edmonton location... ask them because the guy I talked to said there were quite a few in the back and one was on the floor .

I asked for the open box price at this location. The guy said no. You may have better luck with a different guy.

Sorry... was meant to be 2 different replies in one post. The $99 was for the demo unit the guy was asking for a price...

and the second part was just updating stock for edmonton people . I PM'd LD when I went to that location and got it for ~$150ish, well worth it.

Tried again running off a UPS power supply. Turns on fine with TV off. Turn Tv on.. and locks up and refuses to turn on. Again this is seperated from the outlet and running straight from batteries off the UPS.

So you are saying the Spherex is running 100% off the power grid and only off a UPS (battery power only)...and when you turn the TV on it *still* freezes the Spherex?

update on the local FS i called in to ask for a price on there demo unit of the Spherex system and they said they would only sell for 179.99 there what would you guys suggest cause i know ppl have bought the system for 99.99 for just the demo unit and i also know that it is not worth 179.99 for a demo unit hell for a demo unit it is not worth the price of the NCIX price match any suggestions on what i should do???

if anyone has a demo unit price recepit could you post the pic??? also i asked if they would PM to another FS for a demo price and the manger told me he could not match another FS because the cost the are selling would be a loss??? can someone give me some info plz
