Red Light Camera Ticket

So I got my first one today (Red light camera). I'm pretty sure it does not effect insurance from what I googled but I just wanted to confirm in case something has changed recently if I pay it in full?

I'm very surprised you cannot pay these fines online but must mail it in.

Thanks

They have no idea who was the driver so the ticket can't be put on your driver's abstract. Thus, the car owner just has to pay the fine (or fight it - unlikely to win but you can do a plea for 50% off) and no effect on insurance.
