Redirect to SSL for login pages or force SSL for all

If you come into the site using a non-SSL link, then you click Login - it does not change over to SSL.

The SSL certificate is installed/working for both redflagdeals.com as well as forums.redflagdeals.com and if you do come in a https:// link or f you manually go up there in the address bar and add the 's' it work, then all links you click do continue using SSL from there.

Is there a valid reason why ALL requests are not just automatically being redirected to SSL ?

Or at least things like login pages, login popups and profile pages, messages, etc... not being "forced"/rewritten to SSL URLs ?
I am open! Let's get on with the hacking - I assume it vibrates?

We're planning on switching all traffic to SSL soon, but our SEO people are delaying that process. Hopefully soon though! Smiling Face With Sunglasses

For now, the login form submits to an https URL even if the page is http, and if you go to http://www.redflagdeals.com/user/login/ directly it redirects.
