Refunds under Consumer Protection Act?
Hi, I recently purchased a mattress from The Brick that has a no refund policy. They do exchanges but I do not want to deal with them anymore because of the hassles they put me through for their own mistakes. The mattress is giving me cramps and pains in my back after 2 days of sleeping on it. I paid over $1000 for a Sealy Mattress.
On top of that, the mattress felt perfect in the store. I had to go back to the store 3 times to fix mistakes that they did themselves. Every time I went, they treated me like I was a nuisance and that they were doing me a favor or something. I have a really bad back so it's crucial to me that I have a good mattress.
Now, my question is, am I protected under the Consumer Protection Act in Ontario? Am I eligible for a refund? I read through it but I did not get if I am eligible or not . I do not want an exchange from them either.
Thanks!

Generally speaking, there is no requirement for retailers to provide a refund because you're unhappy with a product. If the product is defective or otherwise not fit for its intended purpose, retailers are required to repair or replace, but not refund.
