x220 4gb 320gb $279 x220 8gb 180gb ssd $339

Deal Link:
Price:
$279
Just noticed that refurb.io got stock of the X220 and dropped the price to $289 from $299 but the interesting part is that they have a version with 8GB Ram and 180GB SSD. I'd prefer a 256GB SSD but all done without modding yourself for $349 is pretty nice.

4GB 320GB HD $289

8GB 180GB SSD $349

As with the T420's they've sold before, maybe if you are lucky but most likely not

would that 8gb x220 be good enough for every day school work use as well as photo editing (lightroom/PS) ?

Can I special request a IPS screen?

I don't mind paying an extra $5 for the upgrade.

Yes, I have used the i3 model for class (nothing too heavy, just simple 'Office' apps like Word/Excel/Powerpoint) and also quick Lightroom edits on 12 and 24mp raws while on vacation.

Thanks,
2nd gen cpu isn't far off from the latest in performance so it can easily handle those tasks if not more. It would come down to portability vs screen size.

I have carried around heavier laptops and having a light one is a joy but if I were to use it for longer periods of time I love the functionality of a bigger screen.

thanks for the comments, just checked the cpu and yes it's quite decent. the machine is well built and very portable for sure, just the screen size, 13inch would be perfect!

decision decision decision!!!

these guys really need to start separating these out and give actual specifications on the unit being sold - anyone looking for a specific configuration (at a higher price) won't touch them otherwise.

sure, if you get lucky and snag one with the upgraded 1600x900 screen, otherwise it's no different as both are 1366x768.

It didn't say grade A for this particular one, should I be worried? Kinda really wanted it.

I wonder when they will carry the T420s or T430s.
