I think once you use your credit card with paypal it's connected...
People say CC is a better option than bank transfer because if things go wrong you can do a CC charge back.

Yes, you can use your credit card INSTANTLY.
just log into paypal and add/edit credit card.
add the credit card and away you go.
if you add your actually bank account it will take about a week.
they have to send you a deposit- then check that deposit and confirm it.. blah blah blah.. this sucks because i just opened a US$ account and i need to pay for stuff that i just bought with paypal =( and it's going to take awhile...

Is currency exchange involved from paypal if you use a Canadian issued US Dollar credit card? lets say from BMO.

I signed up with Paypal a couple of months ago to pay for something that only accepted Paypal.
I used my credit card linked with it, but it also asked for a bank account to link (I might of thought it was mandatory at the time, so I linked my LOC). It had to be validated by them making 2 small deposits into it and then me confirming it. I never bothered with it, until I made an Ebay purchase yesterday and used Paypal. I removed my LOC that was linked (and never used or validated, score 30 cents off Paypal!) and used my CC (that was still linked).
I think CC is a much faster and easy way to go with Paypal. Within an hour my Ebay seller that said he got a confirmed payment and would send out the item. Money from a linked bank account takes days I believe.

Paypal NEVER charges a fee for the BUYER, only the SELLER. If i were selling something, i would NEVER use paypal, they rip the seller off. So that fee was probably due to your friends end. not paypal.
Yes, currency exchange is strait from paypal. I find these days especially just to set up a US bank account, with TD if you set one up you get the premium rate and don't get charged extra. i've done this. you save a bout $0.01-$1 per transaction with the US account. which add's up =)
haha they only deposited like $0.07 in my account =0. well to scam it, i guess you could keep adding the bank account and removing it, obtaining this small amount of cash every single time? lol. they might catch on though...

You cannot keep adding the same account, but you can add as many different accounts as you want. Someone actually did this on a massive scale and scammed Paypal for hundreds of thousands of dollars. They tried to sue him, but since they put the money into his accounts voluntarily, he won the case. Although I bet they introduced some kind of monitoring to prevent this after that incident.

oops. sorry, i wasn't aware of this. then on most times they don't charge you. this is s special case =0
the only reason i added my bank account was because they made me? i don't remember exactly, but they wouldn't let me use my CC anymore and i had to verify myself?
