Removing Paint from Bricks

Anyone have prior experience with removing paint from outdoor bricks on a house?

Should I used a pressure washer or chemicals?

I wouldn't use a pressure washer on bricks. If you house if fairly new, then don't expect that the outter colour of your brick is the same on the inside!!! With a pressure washer, you will definitely chip the brick!!!!!

Do some calling around to paint stores. Just recently I saw something about a stripper made specifically to get paint off brick.

Just call Brampton Brick. They are one of the largest brick manufacturers out there. If anything they should be able to give you the ridge paint colour to match your brick!!!

Call the brick mfg'ers like I said in my post. When I first moved into my house, a good friend of mine owns his own large bricklaying company and he noticed that the bricks in the back of the house were off. That is it looked like the brick came off 2 different assembly lines and thus they were slightly off. Called the builder and he definitely agreed and then called the brick manufacturer who sent 2 guys and they stained the brick to make sure that they all matched.

I've decided to try sanding the bricks down a little. I couldn't find the brick colour at Home Depot, but I'll try other stores.

It sounds crazy, but I achieved some success by using Goo Gone and a wire brush. I didn't have the patience to keep going, but it worked where I tried it (Latex paint spots though).
