Repair wood painted countertop?

I have a wood painted countertop in my kitchen and the high traffic area near my sink is getting worn off. I don't have the funds to replace it
Anyone have ideas on ways I could go about to repair it?

From the photo, it is painted, not laminate.

You would need to sand off the old paint and apply 2 coats of primers and then go nuts with paint for any pattern you want. Then seal it with a clear coat.

You could do that, or you can buy a epoxy kit and pour epoxy on it. It will last longer and may look better depending on your skill level.

I thought it looked like ugly laminate that has rubbed off.
Nah just ugly paint over a wood countertop

Go to a Habitat ReStore and get a piece of laminate countertop. It is VERY cheap there. Cut it to size and install. Much easier than dealing with sanding and painting/coating.Or, you could make a new wooden frame and build a concrete countertop.

Good Luck!

Don't do a do-it-yourself concrete countertop. I've never seen one that looked good. Leave that to the pros.
Agree with the Habitat option.
