My Samsung ML-1710 laster printer started to show signs indicating that the cartridge needs to be replaced.
What's the verdict on laser printer cartridges?
Do I get a new OEM cartridge?
What about remanufactured cartridges sold on eBay (like 50% of OEM price)?
What about those toner refills for laser printers?
Thanks in advance!

Toner
Not sure how old that printer is or how much it cost. I do tech support for mid range laser jet printers (not Samsung) see it all the time refurb carts causing various probs: noise, PQ issues and if we have a tech onsite for something like that customer will need to use gen carts before we continue. Problem is if you buy the refurb cart and it causes problems of some sort your out even more money than just buying gen carts. Again this all depends on the printer too how old in terms of warranty etc....toner dumps are common with refurbs and screw printers up internally big time, might as well throw it out unless you have a toner vac and knowledge of how to dismantle and clean.

good post, I am so scared of buying third-party cartridges or laser toner refill kits exactly for the reasons you mentioned above.
Mind you, the OEM toners cost just as much as a new printer but a part of me just can't throw away a working printer.
So I just buy OEM cartridges and hope I am doing some good for the planet._______________
