Respite home care for the elderly

Not sure if this is the right forum, kind of a parenting question.
Anyone have experience hiring respite care workers for the elderly? My mother is ailing and needing constant attention that my older brother cannot provide for her anymore. Does anyone know of a reputable company that would provide this in Winnipeg? What kind of costs are we looking at? Because my brother lives with her home care will not provide anymore care than what they are providing already which is very sporadic at times due to staffing turnovers.

Another question, how does one go about choosing a personal care home? We don't really want to send her there right away but her needs are growing ever more demanding beyond what we can provide. This is such a difficult decision. Old age sucks.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this isn't the right forum.

Every city has respite care programs.
They don't send someone in to the home, they take your mom and place in her in a personal care home for a week or for however long you need a break.
