There's been an explosion of bullion enhanced coins recently, many with mintage of 100. I have to admit, some of them are very nice.

Could it be a marketing study to see how many will sell and at what price? I was surprised to see 2 of them already Sold Out at TCS for $126.99, though many are selling for less on eBay.

This one is already bid up to $127 on eBay, and looks great imo:

Here are a couple more 2017 Maple Leaf enhanced coins, just for fun:

Wow, C4F is wasting no time getting the Sept releases up on eBay.

Kinda funny to see the Pysanka planchet repurposed.

Side note: interesting experience at McDonald's drive thru yesterday. Total charge came to $3.13 so I handed over a toonie, loonie, dime and three pennies. The girl handed pennies back to me and said manager told them not to accept them anymore................so I gave her a nickel. No love for pennies anymore I guess and I paid two extra cents for no reason.......lol........what a scam

^ yup...

re: Great Seal of Canada coin.....had to brush up on my $25 RCM offerings to see where this coin fits in?!? Honestly a nice idea for a 3-coin series (see images below for the actual seal images over the years, courtesy of wikipedia)

Also bizarre pkg for 5oz (2018 ) Voyageur......shows the other previously done big coins (circa. 2015) on the beauty box yet description also says 1st Coin of a new Series...

^ yup...

what's with the Great Seal of Canada coin ? Continuation of series...? or one-off?

1. Looks like silver version 2003 Great Seal coin: http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/300---go ... rod2380045
2. Not sure what you are confused about. Previous series were colourized and gold-plated. This one looks like pink gold-plated, i.e. new series.

ahh pink gold-plated......now I understand...........didn't catch that when I first looked at your image

Although I love my 5oz collection........it sure is tough to think of 5oz that have done well over the years :(

btw......did some digging re: Great Seal of Canada and updated my previous post (added images) at the same time you responded.....anyway Great Seal has got my interest a bit........all depends on mintage now...previous FV $25 coins over the last couple years get up into the 6k+ mintage with the exceptions such as the 2015 Silver Singing Moon Mask 3-coin set Mintage 3k

we shall see...if you're pricing them at $159.95 I suspect it's a pretty high mintage (maybe 6k?!? just like dragon boat...just guessing)...if mintage is high, too bad, but predictable from RCM

^ thx for info but what's up with the price? That's considerably more than the Singing Moon Mask 3-coin set Issue: $359.95

Must be some pricey bi-metal work going on..........either that or they're possibly 2oz silver coins......just guessing.......feel free to elaborate

In other news: Who shall be the first to do some "Game of Thrones" coins/medals????...........that's my idea of the day........lol....I would load up in a heartbeat if Mintages were limited........call me crazy but characters or dragon etc. in high relief and names of locations eg. Winterfell on obverse, would be awesome!!.......always looking forward to Sundays these days (ie. tonight)

btw : not paint on coin like Disney stuffs........I'm talking more like ChoiceMint UHR stuffs or the awesome medals that come from the various Mints in China

The dark part of the coins is either rhodium plated (most likely) or has antique finish. Not sure about the size of the coin nor about the FV.

That is the 1st ever 5oz voyageur dollar I believe, if the mintage is right (1500 or less) I may be interested! The hot air balloon looks cool, again, only if the mintage is low I will get it.

I chuckled when I saw how they made use of the pysanka planchet. Just invert it and call it a balloon instead of an egg. Why not?

Not for me, but it would be a nice and colourful addition for balloon lovers.
