Ok,

How do we know that Shakepay/Coinsquare/Coinberry/Einstien Exchanges are any more legit in it's operations than QuadrigaCX ?

I will be more inclined seek a peer-to-peer solution in Canada. Has anyone ever used linkcoin.pro or localbitcoins.com?
You can try bisq. But limits are very low. I've been using shakepay since last summer, very responsive, and transfers are fast. Do small amounts.

I think the issue with peer-to-peer is that limits eill always be low to transfer to / from fiat, because there's no centralized agency handling verification - by design.

I need to pay for something in bitcoin soon and I'd rather not use a credit card, but the problem is I don't have X business days to wait for Interac transfers to go through on Shakepay or Coinberry, and Coinberry won't allow withdrawals for 3 days anyway. The only option that was instant was flexepin on Coinsquare but I forgot my damn password and password reset causes your account to become locked down for 7 days so that's useless now.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Maybe MyBTC.ca? EDIT: MyBTC says your initial funding will be held for manual verification, damn.

Interac transfer to shakepay is instant.

EDIT: It worked, thanks. I don't really like that I'm forced to use a mobile app but as I explained I'm out of time and options.

Now Shakepay introduced Shakepay Web, so you are not forced to use a mobile app.

For those using Shakepay have you had any issues with institutions closing your accounts for ETF transfers? I've read a bunch of these types of posts for CIBC, Simplii and others on Reddit, etc. but not within the past few months

Local ATMs seem like the only safe bet, but not willing at 5%.

To avoid this scenario, I opened an account on a credit union, which I use to transact with shakepay. So my day-to-day bank only see transfers to / from credit union. And I had no issues with Shakepay and the credit union.

Don't use ShakePay right now there's something wrong going on - coins can't be transferred out and the app is getting buggy.

It's not looking good. They were having problems with withdrawals for a while now. If the website doesn't come up soon a lot of money been lost from everyone.
Back in the day I was telling people when Quad was initially having issues with fund withdrawals months before their latest fiasco, it was a very bad sign they are starting to gate withdrawals.

Anyways, saw a headline somewhere, CRA may be working on getting their share of taxes from Crypto investor/speculators:

Are you able to transfer out via the web? Https://shakepay.co

Same report on reddit, let's see if support will be responsive (they have always been).

They had issues getting banks to work with them, wasn't really a sign.
I have a large crypto cashout I will be claiming this year, will be interesting to see what they do about it. I thought about trying to hiding some of it but I know CRA wants their share and will do everything they can to get every penny. So in the end I'm just grateful for what I have, pay my share and not worry about looking over my shoulder for the next several years.

Sigh, Shakepay is cool when it works, is the app unreliable for others too? I can't make a damn payment because I can't scan QR code, and when I try to use paste it just goes to a progress spinner forever. The website version doesn't support sending yet.
