N00b question, are the rear derailleur hanger very unique/model specific? Google say that part is very common and inexpensive, but when I tried to google a replacement for my bike i only see 40-50 bucks ones.

Alternatively I see some much cheaper ones at mec for 10 to 20. They appear to be non model specific, but there are a lot of different types and not sure if it will fit my bike.

Bike is giant contend sl disc 2017.
https://wheelsmfg.com/derailleur-hanger-290.html is the one for your bike. Your LBS should be able to order it for you.

Hey guys; looking for a road bike for my girlfriend and spotted this Miele 105 based bike from Browns cycle on Kijiji, a 2017 clear out. Seems to be a steal, but am I missing something about the bike at this price range? 105 equipped bikes are usually in the $1300-1400 range, as far as I can see.

Clearout, might be limited sizing, might have the older 105 group and might not have the complete group.
Also, when you show up 99% it will be "just sold".

Looks like they only have XS or XXS left? Is your wife really short?

It's pretty common to have FSA cranks and noname brakes on bikes in this price range (i.e $1000-ish), so it's par for the course. Only when you get into bikes in the $1400+ range that you might get a complete group

Thanks for all of the feedback guys; looks like a loss leader and not a complete group, so it seems silly. Can someone recommend a women's road bike sub $1000? I've been scouring Kijiji, and have found a lot of dealers promising great deals, but nothing actually promising. Can I expect to get a better deal at the bike show?

Consider buying a helmet that has the sunglasses as attachments, they are pretty awesome. Most of the time cost more or less as a set of Oakleys. Went this way and probably never go back.
Which helmet with sunglasses as attachments did you go with?

Am hoping to score a discounted bike as the season is changing. Looking for a women's 5'2" - 5'3" hybrid bike in the Markham/Toronto area. Aware of any sales happening?

I’m looking for something to keep my running shoes dry or relatively dry for a 30 min commute in the morning and 30 minute ride home.

I’m not looking for anything super expensive. I would prefer something cheap to be honest. Just anything effective to keep the rain from drenching my socks and feet.

Any suggestions?

I see that you're in Vancouver, this weekend, the Trek stores had a pretty big sale. I went to the one in Burnaby (on Kingsway, by Royal Oak), and picked up a pair of Bontrager booties for $30. Regular price was $73. Oh yeah, because this is Red Flag Deals, they were giving gift cards to the first 25 people who showed up, so I got a $10 gift card, which brought the price down to $20. But still, $30 is still a good deal. They still had a few pairs left on the clearance rack. Above average quality, waterproof and should fit the bill for you. They had road shoe and mtn bike shoe versions, so pay attention to that. I would suspect the mtn bike version should stretch over your running shoes. I don't foresee them marking them back to regular price, so the sale price sticker would remain on them. After all, they are last year's model.

Yes, the sale is 'over' per se, but like I said, I don't think they'll be removing all the red tag stickers on the clearance stuff.
Otherwise, I'm willing to sell some of my gear I'm not using. Depending what size shoe you are, I have a pair of size Large Vaude lightweight booties. Used once (last weekend) and in perfect shape, $10. I'm in east Vancouver near Joyce-Collingwood, if you're interested. PM me.
