My record is 720,000km on a 2001 Pontiac Montana van and it's still going strong with the original drivetrain.

-oil changed every 25,000km with Esso XD3 0w30 + Napa Gold filter
-Air filter every 50,000km
-fuel filter every 100,000km.
-Amsoil ATF w/external filter.

I run a taxi/shuttle service so I've owned plenty of high mileage vehicles. My cars do mostly city driving and the bodies and interiors are generally hooped by 500,000km. My vans do all highway driving and would run nearly forever but usually get totalled somewhere along the way by a collision with a deer.

Almost 200kkm on my truck, but since I only drive ~5000km/year, it would take me another 20+ years to get to 300kkm.

Last Friday, I put in the 4th tank of gas it's used this year.

-slow: slower than speed limit
-left lane cruisers with speed limit or less (especially on HWY with other 3 lanes wide open)
-clueless behind the wheel: signaling, lane changing, parking...

What type of car do you have? 97 Lexus ES300 (currently at +425k km), 97 Toyota Corolla (sold at 300k km), 99 Honda Odyssey (sold at 320k km)
How do you maintain your car? I do most of the work myself.
What type of driving do you do? Combined city/hwy

On my ES300, I use group3 synthetic oil. Oil change every 12000km. Oil filter change every 6000km.

Over a 15 year period, you drove over a million kms. How did you accomplish it?

Nothing more than just normal maintenance.. All cars still going strong...

You also. Almost 1.4 million kms within the same period. How?

Maybe he/she didn't put that many km on them, just bought them when they were relatively high.

I only have 150k on my car, but I drive a lot. 80k in 2 years. I hope to cut down on commuting time though, I hate it.

I feel like its wasting the car. I know cars are meant to be driven but I think they're meant to be enjoyed, not driven to work daily .

Driving is probably job related for him.

Highest mileage car I have owned personally was only 96k (5yrs old, bought new)

Current two cars we bought used (both are 2007s) with 50k and 40k at the time. Now 53k and 63k respectively. One of these will in all likelihood hit 150k unless they're horrendously unreliable and get dumped early.

I was hoping to take my 2002 Volvo S40 to 300,000km+, but unfortunately this year it really started to go downhill at around 240,000km.

It started overheating on those "warm" March days, started stalling, had a very annoying squeak and rattle from under the hood, rust started to form on the wheelwells, oil started to leak from the headgasket area, and it seemed like the turbo was done because it wasn't producing as much power as it used to.

I was hoping to do my 200km commute with that car but alas, had to give her up because it would of been too costly to maintain her. :(

Just over 275,000 km in my 2003 Corolla S bought new in August 2002. There are signs of rust here and there if you knew where to look but otherwise it's been great (knock on wood).

Our 95 aerostar we had since 98 with 67000km had 360 000 till my dad sold it to my aunt for $200 because she needed a vehicle. Damn thing hit a deer in 04 and would not die. Insurance fixed it. Also had a compression issue in 01 from pulling a 3500pound tent trailer all the way to Anaheim and back up through great falls to edmonton.

05 focus my brother inherited has 198 000 km on it and the only thing wrong is the mirror is missing on the passenger side. Parents 08 escape is sitting at 120 000km and our nitro is at around 90 000km.

My uncle had a 94 tempo up until he bought the focus my brother has now, had 398 000km on it and the tranny seized. Was fun driving it in 2nd gear and hearing the motor screaming at us all the way to the dealership to dump the damn thing.

How often did you change the oil filter over those 25,000km - that Napa Gold filter isn't an ' extended service ' filter is it ?

That aside - 720,000km on a 2001 Pontiac Montana van and it's still going strong ??? :-0

Nicely done !

Kudos !

I drive 50k+ a year for work. Have had several GM pickups that went well over 300k, a '92, '99, and a '03. I didnt put all the km on them but put the last 100k on as they were handed down to me. All ran with just regular maintenance, and plenty of abuse. The 1992 is still going strong after a co worker bought it with over 430k. It was in the best shape of all of them at the high k's, they dont build trucks like that anymore.

My parents have had one of each of the 4 generations of Chrysler minivan. All have went over 300k before dying. They did trannys and engines in the early ones but the later ones are still running great and its usually a deer hit that finishes them off. Oil changes every 5k with regular oil, and repairs as required generally following the service guide.
