So anyone who started driving at 13 is not a teenager? Hmmm that's fallacious to say the least.

Same! I mean my old 415,000km lexus is300 got there from road trips. Huge ones! Montreal, cottage, pei, etc... otherwise i’m only doing 15,000km/yr doing regular things.
These days i’m only doing 1 road trip per year.

2000 Toyota 4Runner, TRD Supercharged 3.4 V6, Limited with 320k km and still going strong.
Body and paint is in amazing condition considering 20 years.
As long as I can keep the rusties away from the frame via diligent use of Fluid Film I think it’ll just keep going and going. I’m not getting rid of it unless I’m offered a good sum of $$$.
Amsoil oil and Amsoil oil filters. Toyota red coolant. Lucas gear oil.
Yes it requires premium fuel but I think it’s worth it.
One of the best daily drivers for me. I truly hope the newer 4Runner’s are as reliable.

1999 Acura 1.6 EL Premium, stock except for upgraded suspension. Sold it with 321k km. I’m not sure how more life it had in it as it was burning oil. Brake lines were corroded and fuel lines were not too far behind. Rust was taking its toll on the typical areas for Honda’s / Acura’s of the time period. It served me well but it only had 13 years on it when I sold it. Having said that I must say with the suspension upgrade it was a very enjoyable daily driver. I miss manual transmission cars. I might take the Corolla hatchback for a test drive and see what that leads to.

I am of the frame of mind that achieving 300+k km is not terribly difficult, but, getting longevity out of our vehicles that are being driven in the rust belt is not so easy. I think 15 years is pretty easily achievable too but after that it becomes more difficult. Damn salt and that brine *hit they use is devastating to our vehicles. I am really jealous of areas like California and the like that do not have to contend with rust belt issues. Yes they have to contend with sun damage and all that comes with it, but, I’d take that any day.

1985 VW Jetta 5 speed manual.
Bought around 1990 with 90,000 km on it.
Sold in 2000 with just over 320,000 km. No body rust, everything intact.
Sold to someone replacing their own "beater" Jetta which had a rusted out hole in the floor.

Maintenance: I fixed what ever broke.
- front windshield (leaked water around the edges)
- replaced battery
- changed oil every so often
- brake service as needed
- replaced 2 sets of tires
- replaced fuel pump
- replaced heater core

This was used to drive to work, camping, road trips.

I missed the target by 26,100+ km selling my 02 Civic prematurely.

Took over a friend's 2012 CT with almost 193k. I think I will make it this time around lol.

Our 2004 Sienna with the 3.3L 3MZ-FE is now at 321k km's. We bought with 162k.

Besides having to replace control arms twice and pay to get back 3 plugs replaced (Grimacing Face), it's been a decent van.

I had 450 000+ on a '93 Bonneville. It ran great but the body was starting to rust :( My silly stepbrother finished it off when he borrowed it without asking and got t-boned running a stop sign... idiot :(

Piggy backing off this tread, whats the "cut-off" where folks consider that they have gotten their money's worth? 200K, 300K? Is there a difference in the general public and folks that drive to the ground?

300km is easy. For the average 20,000km/yr driver... thats a 15 year old car.
I think you got your monies worth @ that point...
Then you can fix it up. Then pass it down to your teenage son/daughter and tell them “stfu get job and pay for that repair and insurance. @ least you got a car! & i’ll beat yo ass if you smoke a doobie or slam beers before driving.”

I just rolled 120k miles on my 2009 Armada ( roughly 200k kms ), and it still runs great. Zero intentions of replacing any time soon, as the ownership value is so high. Nothing can practically or cheaply replace its comfort and usability.

1990 Acura Integra 5MT bought new sold 2010 with 290K KM mostly city driving too so they were harder miles. Original motor, original paint, and original clutch lol but the clutch was slipping by the time I sold it I was pretty hard on the clutch since it was my first MT.

Just regular maintenance and replaced wear and tear parts as needed car was really reliable and the engine was bullet proof although it was burning oil so it needed regular top ups also there was a water leak somewhere around passenger side. Power windows and moonroof still working.

Looking back now I totally regret selling the car should of fixed her up. Now driving a 2013 Honda Civic Si 6MT bought new now has 81K KM going for minimum 200K KM and shooting for 300K KM.
