[Amazon] RFD Exclusive: Instant Pot LUX60 6-in-1 Rice Cooker/Pressure Cooker etc $109.95

There have been quite a few discussions about the Instant Pot 6-in-1 cookers lately, and we've been working with Instant Pot directly to get RedFlagDeals.com readers a good deal.

Right now, you can save $50 on the 6 litre and 5 litre models when you purchase directly from Instant Pot with coupon code rfd50.

Our exclusive discount gets you the following prices:
  • InstantPot Programmable Pressure Cooker IP-LUX60 - $109.95
  • InstantPot-Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker LUX50 - $101.95 (currently backordered with expected shipping in February 2013)
That's the best price available on the LUX60 outside of 1-day only Amazon.ca lightning drop price of $105. Shipping is free.

As discussed in other threads, the Instant Pot is a very versatile cooking appliance that is very energy efficient as well. It works as 6 things -- pressure Cooker, saute/browning, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, and warmer. It has plenty of positive reviews on Amazon.com -- 128 user reviews, 4.5/5 average rating.

I bought this as a lightning deal from Amazon and couldn't be happier. My girlfriend made carnitas the day after receiving it (took 2 hours total which isn't bad to make a fork tender 3.5 lb piece of pork filled with amazing flavour), and from that one dish alone, this pressure cooker is awesome! It is worth every penny for $110. Can't wait to try making some chili and soups.

Wow, great find! I've been looking for something like this. Now I don't need to waste my space on a slow cooker, a rice cooker and a pressure cooker.

Ends up being $5 cheaper than Amazon.ca. Better to order from amazon because of their customer service?

Anyone here have advice on which size to get? I feel like the difference between the 5 and 6 L isn't that much so I feel like i'm never going to need 6 L... Am I wrong here?

At what point will I have wished I had gotten the 6L?

Thanks

Edit: I just compared the size of both pots. They're the same!?! except the 6L is 2 pounds heavier... does thsi make sense?

Easier to put less in a big pot than more in a smaller one...just saying.

According to their website, they both are spec'd at 12.6 × 10.2 × 11.8 in

wierd...

Has anyone used this who has also used a good quality pressure cooker (like Kuhn-Rikon or Fagor)?

If so, I would be interested to hear your take on the differences.

How is it shipped from US? Will we be charged with border tax and more? If anyone bought directly from the website before can share their experience?
