Leungly. There are a lot of other suppliers, but they tend to be more expensive and usually carry 7 inch + pads.

if I have a 6.5" backing plate, does this mean I need larger pads (say 7" or larger) or would 6.5" pads suffice? I do not want to run into an issue of the backing plate being exposed. also is 6.5" ideal for a newbie like me, or should I be using something smaller?

Guys, what's the best overall cleaner for light interior european car (Volvo)? I mean for panels and dash.
And also, what's the best cleaner to remove small dirt and salt traces under the hood on plastic and rubber parts (nothing major, no oil)?

I haven't done a Volvo yet, best person to ask would be magici4n(Aaron, I don't know exactly if that's his username).
You could just use Zep Citrus 1:10 for interior surfaces and microfiber. Spraying on to the microfiber and never the dash directly. Try to use plain water first because microfibers themselves have cleaning abilities. For the salt and dirt under the hood, I would again look at Zep Citrus 1:4 (1 part water to 4 parts Zep) but use a disposable shop towel instead because it can get a little grimy and will fully waste a nice terry or microfiber towel in minutes. Also please consider more responses because again I have never worked on a Volvo but can't imagine its all that different.

I am going to go with 5.5" pads because it seems like the PC will struggle with the 6.5" pads. I should have bought a Griots polisher instead for the extra power.
I am thinking of ordering the following (quanities in brackets). Let me know if it is overkill or good enough. I figured I would double up on the white pad.
(1) Lake Country 5" Rotary Backing Plate
(1) Lake Country 5.5" CCS Yellow Cutting Pad
(1) Lake Country 5.5" CCS Orange Light Cutting Pad
(2) Lake Country 5.5" CCS White Polishing Pad
(1) Lake Country 5.5" CCS Black Finishing Pad
Also should I be going with flat pads or the CCS pads? Should I be using a flexible backing plate or the standard backing plate (I see both listed on detailing store websites)?

For those interested in the PC 7424XP, Amazon.com has them for $97.99 including a $20 rebate from PC.
When all said and done, shipped to Canada, the total is $132.14
$117.99 - $20 (PC rebate applied immediately when you proceed to checkout) plus $21.02 for shipping plus $13.13 (Import fees/taxes/duty et.al))=$132.14

Hi all,
I'm interested in starting to wash/detail my cars myself. Previously I would just run my cars through a touchless wash and maybe go to Fine Details once a year.
Since I want to do it myself I'm now looking for supplies needed. Can anyone help me create a shopping list from eshine? I am looking for easy application/use and durability, price is not so much of a concern but I don't want to splurge unless it really makes it easier or is much more durable.
So far all I've come up with so far is I think I would like to use the Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax (No. 845).
Thanks.
