We need to to shoot the 3 better. We're 9 games in and almost bottom in 3 makes. Do we not practice shooting?

You make it sound like you are an actual player on the team...Outside of Kyle Lowry, Ibaka and maybe C.J. Miles, the Raptors do not have any players
that are statistically above average 3-point NBA shooters.

Fans do not influence 3 point shooting. DeRozan needs to stick to his core competencies, which is 2 pointers.
He will never be a good 3-point shooter at the NBA level.

It's not uncommon for fans to refer to their team as "we". Makes it easier conversationally in my opinion.

Using "we" is fine with fans talking about their team. The context is understood. Anywho, this was a horrible game. Outplayed from the start, Ibaka smh he's invisible on offense. Vanfleet played great though, he's not the best athlete but really crafty.

Moment JV came back in the game, all Washington did was one play and that 3pt deficit grew to a 10 point deficit......

Never thought I'd see many Raptor fans question the coach about subbing JV back in the 4th quarter where it's usually the other way around

As of last night 7th in 3pt freq, 9th in 3pt attempts, 30th in 3pt%

9 games is a small sample size, but Raptors being dead last in 3pt% is no surprise given we don't have many 3pt shooters on the team

Insert Maximdude essay reply on why JV is a god and Casey sucks and Lowry and Demar are why they lost this game.

No not because JV cant guard a pnr to save his life or anything...

JV was a problem, but our starters were an issue as well. As many are saying, our starters are not playing well. Ibaka continues to be a liability. People joke around saying he's older than he is, but from the way he plays, it certainly looks that way.

^ i like how ppl are bashing JV because Wiz went on a run when he came in, but nothing for Lowry... without Wall playing, there should be no reason your so called "all star" point guard should be chirping the lefts and possibly get T'd up and thrown out... we were already getting owned when he got thrown out but he should have kept his cool..

Kyle is averaging HALF as many points as he did last season in only 7 less minutes... shooting only 32% from 3pt.....Derozan is averaging 4 less PPG in only 1 minute less per game... is only shooting 23% from 3pt....Ibaka, who is definitely shown he is slower this year.. and shooting much worse from 3PT this season.....BUT NOPE... Lets all blame it on JV... even tho his percentages are the same.. down 2 ppg and 2 rpg in the 6 minutes less that he is playing...

everyone wants to bash JV but the main reason we could not get over the hump the past 4 years in the playoffs... other than the Lebron factor the past 2 years... is that Lowry and Derozan are NOT stars... they are just above average players that do not handle the pressure well to win us games when it counts..

Playoff Stats... Lowry - 15/4/5 39% and 31%....Derozan - 21/4.5/3.5 40% and 21%... where at least JV has pretty much stayed the course... 12/9/1 57% in 25mpg...

we saw these two guys not being superstars first hand this season in GSW when we were up 5 WITH the ball with 1:45 left.. and both of them missed 2 shots each in the final 1:45 while Curry and Durant made their shots and we lost by like 5-7 points..

i will actually be happy once these two years are done and we will have Lowry, Derozan and Ibaka off the books and we can start fresh with some of these young guys that are looking pretty solid..

If you didn't know they are fake ass all stars then you've either been living under a rock the last 4 years or just straight up in denial.

This team is treadmill until they get a bonafide superstar to help the to Betas they have here.

I think you missed the section where I said our starters are an issue.

Also those techs against Lowry was weak. First one was warranted, but second was just a holy shit. Even Washington fans and the announcers were baffled at how weak the tech was.

Well we don't want the ball staying in Kyle's hands for too long, we've tried that, it's made us more predictable in the playoffs and that has to change, ball must move around even if it means Kyle's numbers drop because of it.

The trouble with the new system is when the 3 shots aren't dropping the team looks doomed offensively unless they revert back to Demar's midrange game bailing you out. Norm attacking the basket isn't working now, Kyle attacking the basket tends to result in his shots altered, we're missing that 1 more option who will bail us out attacking the basket when threes aren't sinking, I was hoping CJ would be that guy but doesn't look like it so far.

It's still early, but they got the right idea. But yes, those 3s gotta go in, or this doesn't work and it become's the demar and kyle iso show all over again. Iso is nice to keep the D guessing, and to expose matchups...but clearly it doesn't work with the top tier teams.

Kyles excuse if he doesn't live up to his big contract, likely to be a killer for us.

For the system to work they have to continue to commit to it and let it come. Everyone's still getting used to the offense - drop off in ppg for DeMar and Kyle should be expected given they are charged with moving the ball more. Once it becomes second nature and it's not on their minds, then their heads will be clear and they'll be back to hitting those 3's.
