RFD's Official Korean 27" 2560x1440 Monitor Thread
1440p/4K is the future!!
A lots of different household names (QNIX/CATLEAP/XSTAR/ACHIEVA) and new deals popping up on eBay.
Best deal so far (from BCC)...
X-STAR DP2710 LED Glossy
http://www.2560x1440monitor.com/inde...&product_id=53 $279.98 US
X-STAR DP2710 LED Matte
http://www.2560x1440monitor.com/inde...&product_id=40 $279.98 US
after the $22 customs, it's around ~$305 CAD as mentioned by another poster here who purchased the glossy.
pros:
-high resolution
-overclockability
-samsung pls panel
cons:
-no buyer protection/warranty
-backlight bleed
-crappy stand/build
from reports these are mostly guaranteed to OC up to 110Hz and very few reports of any dead pixels with these panels, but backlight bleeding and "panel play"/alignment issues seems to be a common problem.

Looks good. Is the display wall mountable?

too bad its the model with the glass. from most reviews it seems that these models have more issues and the glass doesnt give any benefit.

When you get near the end of the checkout process it indicates that it is in "Sandbox mode" and your account will not be charged.
Looks like the seller is still setting the site up and its still a bit premature for the Hot Deals forum.

no scaler
I believe this model lacks a scaler, so it won't - for example - be able to output 1080p.

Let's wait a bit before ordering, obviously... ebay links are not allowed but this is allowed.

Well that should be handled on the graphics card side, I know there is an option for that. I wouldn't use this with a PS3/Xbox anyways.

This is pre shipping.
This is essentially the same monitors being sold on Ebay minus the shipping costs. After you create and account and type in the details you'll find the price is almost exactly the same as you'd pay on those EBAY 27" IPS panels.
Close thread. Not hot.

What's the price after you check-out? This is being sold directly, avoiding the ebay fees... so it should be cheaper. Why close the thread when I bet it will become quite big and full of discussion on the product and important vendor information?

Says "When Combined sum amount is over USD100, We will offer Free Expedited Shipping." so I'm assuming the checkout is incomplete.

Free shipping to Canada? or just free shipping for domestic customers?
