Another thing
If you guys are thinking about placing an order, dont order from red cap. He/she was nice and helpful when i was in the process of buying the monitor, but afterward they got my money they couldnt care less. I messaged them about the issue i was having and they told me to troubleshoot by repeating the steps i already tried above. After this failed i asked for a return to exchange the defective monitor. Once i sent the message asking for a return i never got a response back. Its been a couple days since i sent the message. It was already frustrating enough having to send/receive only 1 message a day (due to time difference between here and korea). I should have spent the extra $20 and went with big cloth.
Currently i opened a claim on paypal against the seller. I was hoping to save the claim in case something happened to the monitor in the 45 days. I didn't really want to waste it on a DOA.

Ordered a Shimian-lite from redcap on Ebay last week; 62 hours from order to doorstep. There's one dead pixel, though, at the lower right of centre of the screen. Not a huge deal but it is definitely noticeable and not exactly in an obscure location. Fedex customs fee was only $26 at doorstep. Total payment for unit price, shipping, and customs came out to exactly $350 CDN. With PayPal's 5% cash back, it's really $335 for me.

Just ordered a Crossover 27Q from BCC for $360 USD. Let's hope it all goes well.
BTW, where are you guys buying your dual link dvi cables? I need one that's 10ft long. NCIX and CC are really bad at putting supported resolutions in their cable descriptions. Monoprice are the only ones I've seen that have guarantees of 2560x1600 on some of their cables.

You're really only going to get up to ~67 Hz on the monitors off eBay.
To get higher than that you're going to need a "2B" board and that's going to cost you at least $600.
It's risk vs reward, with it heavily favouring the reward side for the price of ~350-400 after customs.
Why can't you guys who "can't understand" why people purchase these Korean monitors understand this? :P_______________
