$57.50 for ONE DVD? Now that's robbery! Go to Walmart and buy it for a hell of a lot less and then mail it. Include a note to thier president or CEO or something.

Does anyone know if there is a contact telephone number for zip.ca??
I have had an account with them for a few months, but due to THE WORST service I have ever encountered with ANY company EVER, I decided to cancel my membership in late December.
I cancelled my Zip.ca service last month and promptly sent back all the outstanding movies I had (4) around the Christmas holidays. I was told I would recieve conformation of my account cancellation once the movies had been returned. Shortly thereafter I got an email saying that 3 of the movies had been returned. I waited and still no conformation of the final movie, or no confirmation of cancellation. I in fact recieved "NO" emails whatsoever from Zip.ca in the past month. NOT ONE! On two sepearte occasions I tried logging on to the website to see what the status was but BOTH times the website was down, which I found happened quite a lot when I was a member.
I then get this email today:
Dear XXXXXXX,
Thank you for trying ZIP.ca.
However, we note that despite the e-mail notices we have sent you have
not returned the following DVDs to us:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
As per our Terms of Service (http://www.zip.ca/Terms.aspx), all DVDs
must be returned to ZIP.ca upon cancellation of a membership. We have
emailed multiple reminders and, accordingly, are now charging your
credit card the retail replacement cost of $57.5.
Please do not return the DVDs now as they are yours to keep.
ZIP.ca
Customer Service
NOT ONE SINGLE EMAIL WAS SENT!! It is a bold faced lie and constitutes fraud on their part. I returned ALL the movies I was sent and was not informed of any outstanding discs. There is no way that I am paying for ANY outstanding movies because:
a)they were all returned promptly
b)no email was sent at all, giving me any staus update whatsoever.
What recourse do I have?? I am livid, but it seems they have me by the balls.
I HATE that company. I had more problems with them then you know. The worst experience with any company (and I use the term loosely) that I have ever had.
PLEASE Please Please, if you are thinking about joining.................. DON'T!!! I have read too many horror stories about them and I have lived through it myself. It is all true. They are scam artists to the "nth degree". I assure you, you will be screwed by them in the future.

Well if you have enough proof, your credit card company is the one you should be contacting in this case for a charge-back

I've PM'd you with email addresses for ZIP's customer service manager George LeClair and president Rick Anderson (I didn't want to post them here and have them harvested by spammers). ZIP doesn't currently have a published phone support number, but if you need to, try phoning their parent company Momentus in Ottawa at 613-225-2000 - you can probably get yourself transferred to ZIP through them.
It's too bad you had a bad ZIP experience - I've been happily with them since last March. They are definitely not scammers, but their customer service engine does seem to work a little creakily in some cases when people have problems. Were you trying to get onto the website in mid-December ? They introduced some major changes around then, and there was two or three days when the website was either glacial or unavailable while they worked out problems. Other than that I'm on the site a fair bit and it is usually up.
I'm guessing one of your returns was lost in the mail. If this is the case I'm sure you can get the charge reversed - a malicious customer would hardly be likely to steal one disc and return the other three!
Good luck in resolving this...

I've never dealt with ZIP.ca. But I've read enough horror stories about them to stay away from them altogether. It just strikes me as "strange", if not "fishy" that a lot of people would find the last batch of returned DVD missing in the mail (en route back to ZIP.ca's headquarter) upon account cancellation....

Contact BBB,there are many other people that complained. Soon they will do full investigation on them, they said. They've done it to me and to tons of other people.Everytime you cancel your membership, they claim they did not receive it. Do a chargeback on your VISA.
Calling them will not help you,I've tried and got laughed at.
