"rip fee" at business depot
My printer broke down and I had to print an 8-page document. I saved the PDF file on my flash drive and went to the Business Depot near Midland/Steeles to get it printed.
10 cents a page, no problem.. then I was told I will be charged $1 for the "rip fee" i.e. the fee for opening my file on the flash drive to get it printed.
I just think that is RIDICULOUS... to be charged something as tedious as opening a file. What a way to "rip" us off!

it's not about the money... the point is that they would charge money for something so... tedious - OPENING A FILE on the computer!
if that's the case, they should charge money for clicking on the mouse, or walking to the printer.

why go to staples to print it? Most local copy shops dont charge to print off memory keys.

should have just asked them to right click on it to print it. that way they wouldn't have to open the document.

Wow, they decreased it. A couple years ago it used to be $3.
Yeah, it sucks, especially for printing only a few pages.

Maybe you're paying off their anti-virus software, since they're opening files for people day and night without knowing ...
Call them up and ask, I'm sure they've got an explanation somewhere!_______________
